PortalCam

PortalCam is the XGRIDS spatial camera, built around visual realism rather than survey measurement. A LiDAR provides depth and spatial structure, four cameras capture colour and lighting, and the data is processed into a 3D Gaussian Splatting (LCC) model that you can walk through. Two fisheye cameras give broad environmental coverage, while two front cameras keep fine detail such as readable text. Proprietary processing and multi-SLAM fuse these inputs into one navigable scene.

The workflow is deliberately simple: walk through the space while monitoring the capture in the LCC Scan app, process the dataset automatically in LCC Studio, then edit, publish, share or integrate the finished model. PortalCam is not a lighter alternative to a survey scanner; it solves a different problem. It is not positioned as a survey-accuracy instrument and no survey-grade accuracy figures are published for it, so choose a Lixel L3 or Lixel K2 when your deliverable is a measured point cloud.

Photorealism over survey accuracy

PortalCam is purpose-built around 3D Gaussian Splatting, with the priority on visual realism, natural navigation and simple content creation. It is the optimal XGRIDS device when the audience needs to experience a space rather than interrogate a survey dataset.

Light enough to carry all day

At 870 g without its tripod, PortalCam is the lightest device in the XGRIDS range. It is simple enough for a single operator to capture interiors and exteriors, including large visual environments, in a single walk-through.

Output and integration
